Mentally challenged woman delivers baby boy in Onitsha

A mentally unstable woman has delivered a baby boy in Onitsha, the commercial city of Anambra State, just a few hours after being rescued from the streets by Anambra State Commissioner For Women Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, on Tuesday.

Tribune Online learnt that the pregnant woman was rescued when the commissioner received a distress call from a concerned citizen who spotted the woman in labour.

On receiving the call, according to a source, the commissioner, swung into action and immediately sought the assistance of the Women Development Officer, WDO, of Onitsha North Local Government Area.

The WDO alongside a nurse took the woman to Onitsha General Hospital where she was delivered of a bouncing baby boy.
