As part of activities marking the 2026 World Menstrual Hygiene Day on May 28, Pure Impacts Inspirational Network, a nonprofit organisation focused on empowering young girls through education, mentorship, and resource support, has unveiled plans to distribute 6,000 sanitary pads across six states in Nigeria.
The outreach campaign will cover Ogun, Lagos, Ekiti, Oyo, Osun, and Bauchi, with the organisation aiming to improve menstrual hygiene awareness and support access to sanitary products for young girls, particularly in underserved communities.

According to the organisation, the initiative forms part of its broader mission to help young girls “see possibilities in themselves and equip them with the knowledge and confidence to turn those possibilities into realities.”
The group said its activities extend beyond menstrual hygiene advocacy to include mentorship programmes, empowerment initiatives, and scholarship support for students.
Speaking on the campaign, Elizabeth Adekoya, founder and lead volunteer of Pure Impacts Inspirational Network, stressed the importance of supporting girls to remain focused on their education.
“We believe a girl cannot focus on her dreams if she is worried about missing school due to her period,” she said.
Over the past six years, the organisation said it has impacted more than 50,000 young girls through outreach programmes, mentorship initiatives, and scholarship support.
It also disclosed that over 12,000 sanitary pads have been distributed across several states, including Ogun, Lagos, Osun, Enugu, Oyo, Ogun, and Anambra.
The 2026 campaign is expected to run from May through June, with the organisation’s team visiting each of the six target states on scheduled dates to conduct educational workshops, menstrual hygiene sensitisation programmes, and sanitary pad distribution exercises.
According to the organisers, the workshops will focus on addressing menstrual myths, promoting proper hygiene practices, and encouraging girls to stay in school during their menstrual cycles.
The organisation added that it would also identify vulnerable students in the various communities for ongoing mentorship opportunities and educational support.
Pure Impacts Inspirational Network noted that the 2026 outreach marks an expansion of its previous interventions, with new focus areas including Ekiti, Rivers, and Bauchi.
The organisation called on corporate bodies, development partners, and individual donors to support the initiative through financial contributions, sanitary product donations, and partnerships that would enhance community access in the target states.
Founded on March 7, 2020, Pure Impacts Inspirational Network has continued to champion initiatives aimed at empowering teenage girls, especially those in rural communities, through mentorship, menstrual hygiene support, and scholarship opportunities.
