Our talent for this week is the Ogene master, Ejike Obiano Benedict who is known in the music globe as Ejyk Nwamba.
Ejyk is a different thing to a wide array of people, to us as one of the best in Ogene music but to others, he is considered the best. Ejyk started performing over a decade and half ago and decided to start releasing his songs officially in music streaming platforms in the 2020s.
In 2020, he released his debut EP Aja Welewele, which became an anthem in the eastern part of Nigeria and catapulted him to limelight. Aja Welewele was later accompanied with music videos.
Ejike Obiano Benedict has performed in almost all the states in Nigeria and has been nicknamed the Ogene master. His music is enriched with Igbo cultural tones, with a blend of mainstream music, with good riddims. His music pays homage to his culture, inheritance and sometimes his journey of life.
In 2022, he performed in United Arab Emirates, Ejyk has worked with the likes of Flavour, Zoro, and Kola Boy, and has won awards in the categories of Artist of the Year (2021), and Best Indigenous Artist of the Year (2022).
Ejyk’s sky-scrapping ability to craft melodies is unrivaled in the music industry, it is a sign he is built for this.
