Meet 2024 Tech Unite Africa speakers

Tech Unite Africa (TUA), an exhibition and networking platform for the African Tech industry, takes place in Lagos, Nigeria from March 26th to March 27th, 2024.

Below is a brief profile of the industry leaders who will be headlining the event.

1. Hon. Aminu Suleiman Takuma

Portfolio: Hon Commissioner, Industry, Trade, Investment and Private Sector Development. Niger State Government

Prior to his appointment as Commissioner of Trade, Mr Takuma was the Director (State Coordination Department, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission) Member Sub-National Enabling Business Environment Committee, and Coordinator, Invest-in-LAKAJI Corridor States (Lagos-Kano-Jibiya), (A USAID/NEXTT-Project) Aminu Suleman Takuma has over twenty-four years experience in investment promotion, facilitation, and aftercare services in Infrastructure Development, Agricultural Value Chain and Solid Mineral Development. Mr Takuma’s expertise lies in strategic alliances with investors to effectively align with and support key agribusiness investment initiatives and infrastructure improvement. He has built and retained high-performance teams that provide strategic, operational, and administrative services to existing and potential investors by developing and motivating skilled professionals. He has facilitated entrepreneurial ventures, business investment workshops, and economic trips abroad; and holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and a Masters in International Affairs & Diplomacy.

2. Jane Egerton-idehen

Portfolio: Managing Director, NIGCOMSAT Limited

For Egerton-idehen, change has never been about heroes or seismic shifts, it’s about making a difference in your own way and carving your own path in the world. Despite a childhood spent in poverty in the slums of Lagos, Egerton-idehen has fought against convention to become one of the most inspiring and influential businesswomen in Africa, and a senior leader at Meta, breaking down gender and equality barriers in the process. A trailblazer who has always believed not just in her own potential but that of others. Her passionate advocacy for women’s rights led her to mentor and support hundreds of women to move into senior leadership positions in top businesses all over the world.

3. Bradley Shaw

Portfolio: Vice President – Middle East and Africa – Lynk

Cape Town native Bradley Shaw has fast established himself as one of the leading business development professionals in the African Telecoms, Media, and Technology (TMT) sector — specialising in SMEs and startups with unique offerings. Shaw’s experience spans the African continent, with a proven track record of increasing revenues for every brand and product he has represented. He holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business and also worked in the educational content sector, followed by a highly successful spell at Africa’s foremost telecoms magazine.

4. Ude Enebeli

Portfolio: General Manager IT Service Management and Governance MTN Nigeria

Enebeli is a Strategic technology leader who drives forward technology concepts and policies to ensure increased productivity and profitability. She combines MBA with 20 years of experience leading full life-cycle technical initiatives across Strategy Development, Architecture Design and Planning, Technology Roadmap, Solution Development, Product/Service Delivery, Service Management, and Project Management in the banking and Telecoms industry. She currently serves as the General Manager, IT Service Management and Governance at MTN Nigeria. In this role she leads the team to effectively manage one of the largest IT operations in the MTN Group. She has proven leadership ability and has led successful teams to achieve and deliver on strategic business priorities and outcomes. She believes in continuous development and always pushing to achieve more.

5. Aderemi Adejumo

Portfolio: CEO, CloudFlex

Adejumo has a Civil Engineering degree from City University, London, and an MBA from Universite Catholique de Louvain, UCL, Belgium. He has more than 30 years of experience in Technology, having worked in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, and Switzerland before moving back to Nigeria. He has extensive experience having worked in a number of blue chip companies, namely; NatWest Group, Citibank, UBS AG, Carrefour, IBM, and Compaq. He is a Microsoft Certified Database expert and an expert in Cloud computing. He was responsible for managing and supporting several large enterprise database infrastructures.

6. Deborah Ojengbede

Portfolio: CEO, AFEN Blockchain Network

In addition to being the CEO of AFEN Blockchain Network, Deborah has dedicated the majority of her career, spanning over seven years, to the financial services industry, with a diverse background that includes Strategy & Innovation, Business Development, and Women Banking. Deborah’s culminating experience is now being utilized to drive blockchain adoption in Africa through innovative web3 solutions.

7. Chukwuma Osahor Covenant-Hero

Portfolio: Head, Digital Partnerships Access Bank

Chukwuma started his professional career with Access Bank Plc where he has managed several portfolios, including financial institutions, large corporates, and multinationals. He is a thorough-bred and consummate professional with over 8 years of banking experience. He is currently the Head of Digital Partnerships at Access Bank Plc, Africa’s largest Bank by retail customers, and is responsible for positioning Access Bank as strategic technology partner, critical to profitability & business growth. The Nigerian banker has a very rich professional cum academic background. He holds an MBA from the University of South Wales, a BSc. degree in Accounting from the University of Jos, Nigeria.

8. Ayo Adegboye, PhD

Portfolio: Group CEO, Arravo

Adegboye was appointed Managing Director of BCX Nigeria (now Arravo) in August 2016, where he recorded a landmark achievement of over 250% YoY growth within the first 18 months and overwhelming employee engagement. He subsequently championed management buyout (MBO) and the divestment of West Africa investment of BCX South Africa Group by attracting both local and foreign investors to acquire 100% stake and subsequent regional expansion to Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire. Prior to joining BCX, He was a Vice President of ITB at Schneider Electric West & East Africa and a Director at SAMSUNG Electronic West Africa. He graduated from the prestigious University of Ilorin, where he studied geology and mineral science. Ayo later proceeded to the United Kingdom, where he obtained a Global Executive MBA from Manchester Business School and an additional MBA in Telecommunications from Informal Telecom Academy, UK.
