It was smiles, cheers, and bright colours as Medmina College, Ibadan, held its ninth graduation and prize-giving ceremony in honour of the class of 2025, called ‘The Paragons’.
In his address, the parents-teachers’ association (PTA) chairman, Alhaji Nurain Zakariyah, encouraged the gathering with a verse from the Qur’an: “Indeed, with hardship comes ease.” He praised the parents and the school for staying strong through challenges and reminded everyone that excellence comes from faith, hard work, and good character.
The founder of the school, Alhaji Mohammed A. AbdulHameed, told the graduates that Medmina’s success stands on teamwork, divine blessings, and quality education rooted in Islamic values.
AbdulHameed thanked the teachers for their dedication and called on the Muslim community to keep supporting the school.
One of the most inspiring moments came from the outgoing Head Girl, Ra’idah Kareem. She spoke about self-discipline, doing what needs to be done even when you do not feel like it. Mixing humour with real-life examples, she urged her classmates to build good habits now if they want a bright future.
The star of the day was Faysal Oloso, who won the Best Graduating Student Award, while Muhsin Asimiyu earned the Best Graduating Junior Student Award.

The head of administration of the school, Dr Muhammad Abdallah, reminded the graduates that learning is intentional and that they have to go after it with passion. “Step into the future with big dreams. Keep shining, growing, and making us proud. Your story has only just begun,” Dr Abdallah encouraged the students.
