No fewer than 6,000 people living with differents have received medical attention from the medical outreach organised by Senator Muhammadu Adamu Aliero, representing Kebbi Central Senatorial Constituency at the National Assembly.
The medical outreach which was in collaboration with Vision Saver Eye Care Ltd. carried out surgery in cataract and hydrocelectomy as well as treatment in high blood pressure and diabetes.
Speaking with Journalists at the Kebbi State Medical Specialist Hospital, Birnin-Kebbi the venue of the medical outreach, the Project Director of Vision Saver Eye Care Ltd., Dr Kamaal Umar said the Senator Adamu Aliero’s gestures would cover all the eight local government areas that make up the Kebbi Central Senatorial District.
“The targetted beneficiaries were initially 3,000 but within one day of commencement of the programmes we realised that number of patients increased as people turn out was marvellous.” He said.
According to Dr Umar, the free Eye care services with medicated glasses were given free and in case of difficult eye surgery, that could be referred to other hospitals like the Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto or sister Teaching Hospital in Zaria, Jos and Ibadan.
He appeals to political office holders and wealthy individuals in the society to assist their people to overcome their various health challenges as majority of the people living in the rural areas are poor and need medical attention.
