In a gesture of corporate social responsibility, Media Trust Group, publishers of Daily Trust, Weekend Trust, Aminiya, Trust TV, and Trust Radio, has donated N10 million to flood victims in Borno State.

The donation was announced by Malam Mannir Dan-Ali, Director of Media Trust Group/Daily Trust Foundation, during a sympathy visit to Governor Babagana Zulum in Maiduguri on Saturday.

Expressing shock at the scale of the disaster, Dan-Ali said: “I don’t think there is anybody in the world, not just in Nigeria, who would not be touched by what he saw happened.”

He emphasised Media Trust’s long-standing relationship with Borno State, affirming that the company would always stand by the state and its people.

“Borno is us, and we are Borno. So anything that affects Borno affects us, and we will always be there,” Dan-Ali added.

Media Trust had previously raised over N200 million for Boko Haram victims, providing scholarships, sinking boreholes, and rehabilitating healthcare facilities.

Governor Zulum welcomed the donation, assuring that the funds would be utilized judiciously.

“We are elated by your presence, and be rest assured that the money would be spent judiciously,” he said.

The donation, according to Dan-Ali, underscores Media Trust’s commitment to supporting communities in need.
