A massive shake-up has hit the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) following the directive issued by the Minister of State for Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika that led to the redeployment, engagement and elevation of over 55 staff from the airports.
One of the most pronounced redeployments was the Director, Human Resources, FAAN, Hajiya Salamatu Umar-Eluma who was redeployed from FAAN to the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) in the same capacity.
A document made available to some journalists with the reference number: MCA/0146/S.22/Vol.T/91, dated 18thAugust, 2017 and addressed to the Managing Director of FAAN, Engineer iSaleh Dunoima convened the redeployment of Umar-Eluma and appointment of two others.
Besides Umar-Eluma, other two names on the list were Mallam Kabir A.N. Mohammed who was appointed as General Manager, Accounts while Mr Anozie Norris was engaged as the Director, Human Resources of FAAN.
The letter was signed on behalf of Sirika by the Director, Human Resources, Ministry of Transport, Mr S.U.D. Maigana.
The, second letter, which conveyed the redeployment and elevation of 52 others, dated 17th August, 2017 with the reference number: MCA7090/T10/283 was with the title: ‘Submission of Deployment of General Managers and Other Key Management Staff.’

Oyaremi Mamud, Grade Level (GL) 17 was moved from Environment Headquarters to Estate Manager Headquarters; Zakari Mamuda, GL 17, MD’s Officer to the post of a General Manger, MD’s Office; Egbadon Eyinnaya, GL17, Deputy General Manger (DGM) to General Manager, Aviation Security (AVSEC); Agbi Elifue, Actign GM Safety Services to GM Safety Services; Ukaegbu Nathaniel, GL16, Acting GM Information Technology to GM Electronics and Ahmed babatunde, GL16, Acting GM Finance to GM Finance.

However, 15 other staff of the agency according to the document would “retain their positions for the meantime.”
All the staff in this category were on Grade Level 17 and there are feelers that no fewer than 10 of them may be axed before the end of the year.
