The Emir of Kano, Alhajii Aminu Ado Bayero, has cautioned security operatives to be impartial during the upcoming governorship and states House of Assembly election slated for Saturday.
This was just as the enjoined party flag bearers at all levels to consider Kano first and should not allow their personal interests to influence their political decision.
He made the statement on Wednesday, when the Kano peace committee paid him a courtesy visit at his Palace, described peaceful coexistence as paramount for any societal development.
He urged the security personnel to carry out their primary responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the people without fear or favour for the interest of unity and brotherhood among the citizenry.
Emir Bayero stated that as faithful, have a belief that leaders are Divine choice and predestined those to steer the affairs of the people hence the need to consider the election process as mere formalities.
He also advised the electorate to be law-abiding while exercising their franchise and vote for credible leaders of their choice bearing in mind life continues after polls.
Emir Bayero commended the State government and members of the committee for preaching to the public on peace assuring that Kano Emirate will not relent in its efforts in supporting any move that will go a long way to ensure peace reign supreme in Kano and Nigeria at large.
Earlier, the co-chairman of the committee Senior Advocate of Nigeria Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud told the monarch the outfit has set all machineries in order to curtail public disturbances during and after this year’s election.
He assured that the committee will continue to partner with relevant stakeholders for better results.
