The defendant, who resides in Jabi, Abuja, is being tried on charges bordering on criminal conspiracy and theft.
The defendant pleaded not guilty of the charge.
The judge, Abdulwahab Mohammed, granted Mr Anenin Enabosi, the defence counsel’s application bail after he pledged that his client would provide credible sureties.
Mohammed granted the defendant’s bail in the sum of N1 million with one reliable surety in like sum and ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
The judge adjourned the case until July 23, for hearing.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Urom Otu told the court that the complainant, one Akin Taiwo reported the case at the Police force headquarters in Abuja on May 4.
The prosecutor told the court that the offence contravened Sections 97 and 288 of the Penal Code.
