THE police on Wednesday arraigned one Clifford Ugwu in A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly inflicting injuries on one Afiz Ademola.
Ugwu, who resides at Masaka, Nasarawa State, had pleaded not guilty to a count charge levelled against him.
The prosecutor, Ifeoma Ukagha, told the court that Ademola of Madala, Niger, reported the matter at the Utako Police Station, Abuja, on July 2.
Ukagha said the complainant reported that the defendant allegedly used a cutlass to injure him while fighting with his colleagues.
Ukagha said that the complainant was rushed to Wuse General Hospital, Abuja, for treatment.

She said the offence contravened Section 246 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Inuwa Maiwada, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N100,000, with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Sept. 4, for hearing.
