The judge, however, gave the convict, N50,000 option of fine.
Anayo, 35, of No.14 MCC Road, Owerri, was first arraigned on Jan. 25, 2018, on a three-count charge and he pleaded not guilty.
The charges were later reduced to one and the convict admitted committing the offence.
The convict pleaded guilty to the charge of possessing a forged bank statement of account.
The prosecutor, Adesola Michael, told the court that the defendant forged a statement of account of a bank account number belonging to Onyeugo Peter Anayachukwu.
He further told the court that the defendant procured the statement with the intent of using same as a genuine document for obtaining American Tourist Visa for himself.
He said the offence contravened Section 368 of the Penal Code.
