Man arrested for attempted defilement of minors in Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested one Michael Bassey for attempting to defile two girls who are siblings.

The 36-year-old man was arrested at Osubi town in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

The spokesman of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest.

He said the suspect allegedly assaulted the two sisters aged two and six.

“A suspect was arrested and will be charged to court, though doctors confirmed that their hymens have not been broken, but clearly there was an attempt to defile them.

“There was no penetration,” he quipped.
