A 24-year-old man, Chinedu Eze, who allegedly stole four empty 25 litres kegs valued N2,000, was on Tuesday granted N 10,00 bail by an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Ajibade, granted Eze bail in the sum of N10,000 with one responsible surety in like sum, before adjourning the case to April 20, for trial.
Eze is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, assault and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Maria Dauda had told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Feb. 17, at 5.00a.m., at Iddo Market, Ebute-Meta.
The prosecutor alleged that Eze assaulted one Ahmed Hassan and stole four 25 litres kegs from him valued N2,000.
He said that the defendant also inflicted injuries on the complainant by using a razor blade to cut him on his left arm.
According to him, the offences contravened Sections 287 and 307 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
