Hajiya Farida Dunama, the Focal Person, Nutrition, Ministry of Science and Technology told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Gombe.
She said that the exercise was aimed at promoting nutrition activities and programmes in the state.

“We are going out to the 11 local government areas of the state to sensitise care givers, the parents, traditional rulers and religious on healthy eating habit.
“We are trying to make parents to be aware of importance of keeping healthy and this will help to reduce the rate of malnutrition in the state,” she said.
According to her, reaching parents directly will guide them on how to live healthy by using locally made foods.
She said that this would help the parents, the state government and Nigeria at large.
“The things we produce in the state are our own food such as millet, soya beans, groundnuts, beans and vegetables are good food that can help to reduce malnutrition.
“We are going to demonstrate to them how to make use of our produce for their nutritional value,” she said.
She called on the parents to make sure they eat healthy, saying “healthy food is your medicine because of its nutritional value.’’
