Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State will from Monday, August 5 embark on a one-month vacation.
The governor made this known in a letter read by the Speaker of the Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin at its plenary held on Thursday.
The letter held that the vacation is being sought in furtherance of section 180 of the 1999 constitution (as amended).
The vacation is to end on Friday, September 6, 2024, with the governor billed to resume on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

The letter further indicated that the state deputy governor, Mr Bayo Lawal is to serve as acting governor of Oyo State while the vacation lasts.
Meanwhile, the Assembly now has a new clerk in the person of Mrs Taiwo Muraina-Akinola.
Muraina-Akinola was deputy clerk before the ratification of her appointment as clerk by the House of Assembly, on Thursday.
Muraina-Akinola takes over from Mrs Yetunde Awe who retired from service effective July 26.
