Lions Club offers FRSC officials, special marshals free eye treatment

A non-governmental organization (NGO), Lions Club Region 10, has organised free eye care for officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and FRSC Special Marshals in Ibadan.

The two-day exercise featured free eye test/screening, donation of eyeglasses, medication and treatment of FRSC officials and special marshals with various eye challenges. Free surgeries were also carried out on those who had threatening eye problems.

The Oyo State Sector Commander, Rosemary Alo, commended members of the club for the gesture.

Alo said that the state command appreciated the Lions Club for its laudable initiative, including testing the sights of their officials and special marshals, free eyeglasses when necessary and recommendations for further treatment of their sights.

She added that the initiative will address vision issues that can hinder the performance of the officers.

Alo further said that the initiative which was held at the FRSC state command, Eleyele, Ibadan will add value to the services of the officials who have received the treatment.

The club’s District Governor, District 404B4, Taiwo Fatoki explained that the initiative is part of the club’s area of focus.

He said that by providing screening and spectacles to the officials and Special Marshals, the club has taken a vital step towards promoting eye health and ensuring that everyone has access to good eye health

“Good vision is essential for personal and professional development. This exemplifies our commitment to making quality eye care accessible to all,” Fatoki said.
