The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, on Monday, denied conducting another party primaries for the forthcoming local government election in the state.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Alex Kalejaye described the rumour about the postponement of the primaries as fake, untrue and embarrassing.
Kalejaye maintained that the party had conducted its primaries and there was no plan to conduct another primary for the local government election.
The statement stated “the party wishes to state that the story is untrue, embarrassing, and never emanated from the state secretariat.
“The chapter can affirm that the party had a credible and rancor-free primaries across the eighteen local government areas, early last month, and has since submitted the names of its candidates to the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC), as required by the electoral law.

“We are therefore miffed that anyone, for whatever reason, would go the press with such an unfounded claim, and urged all stakeholders and party members to disregard the misapprehension and misleading story.
“The party is fully ready to participate in the local government election as scheduled by the ODIEC, and would not give serious attention to futile distortions aimed at creating disaffection within its fold, and promote disenchantment in the process,”
