Nollywood actor and movie producer, Lekan Olatunji has been named Ogun State Best Movie Actor of the Year at this year’s edition of the Ogun Achievers Award (OAA) which was held in the state capital – Abeokuta recently.
The Ogun State-based actor, who expressed delight over the recognition, described it as “unexpected”. According to him, he thought it would be business as usual this year again as he had been nominated in the same categories for years and didn’t win.
“I felt so great because I wasn’t expecting it. In the past, I had been nominated for this same award in this same category and looking at the set of people I was nominated alongside; I would have lost hope in winning.
“Same thing happened this year, but to my greatest surprise, this year when I was also nominated alongside Olu Olowogemo, Kola Ajewole and the likes, I emerged the winner. I feel so honoured and this means a lot to me,” he said.
Lekan Olatunji, who has produced numerous movies, that also told Saturday Tribune he would be shooting a new movie very soon entitled: ‘Akutagiri Okurin Ogun’ – a political and crime movie, which will be marketed by Cooperate Pictures.
