The chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Lanre Sanusi, has reiterated his commitment to good governance and grassroots development.
Sanusi made this statement during a press briefing on Thursday, where he unveiled the plans of his incoming administration to residents and party chieftains.
He highlighted the revamping of major and inner roads in Festac Town and the creation of vocational centres in Festac, Abule Ado, and Mile 2 areas of the local government, while also calling on media practitioners to join in building a formidable Amuwo Odofin community.
He added, “My plan is to transform Amuwo Odofin, and I assure the members of the Nigerian media industry that the major and inner roads in Festac Town will be revamped and accelerated. Vocational centres will be created in the Festac, Abule Ado, and Mile 2 local government areas.
“Our priority is to reposition Festac Town as a modern cultural and creative economic hub, launching the Amuwo Odofin cultural festivals to attract tourism and investment while collaborating with Lagos State’s Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism to develop a Creative Enterprise Park. We will also empower local artisans, fashion designers, film producers, and musicians to thrive through grants, training, and global exposure.
“However, I commend the media experts for projecting the ideology and performances of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They are friends and partners in the progress of the development of the local government. I extend a hand of fellowship to them to join me in building a formidable Amuwo Odofin community.”
Sanusi, a political leader with extensive experience in project management, public service, community leadership, resource mobilisation, and revenue generation, has a deep understanding of the challenges facing the Amuwo community and the practical solutions needed to address them.
