The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, on Friday, distributed Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms to 500 financially disadvantaged students in his district.
The council chairman also facilitated an intensive coaching program for prospective candidates.
During the distribution held at the council secretariat, Apatira reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing equal access to quality education to school leavers irrespective of social class and status.

He assured his constituents that no child would be denied access to tertiary education due to financial constraints.
He reiterated that education remains a top priority of his administration, serving as a vital tool for personal development and societal transformation.
Speaking at the ceremony, he said, “This initiative aims to prepare students adequately for the examination, enhancing their chances of securing admission into higher institutions of learning.
The coaching classes, which are being conducted by seasoned tutors, cover essential subjects such as English Language, Mathematics, and other core subjects relevant to the UTME.
This program will not only boost academic performance but also instil confidence in the participating students.”
He urged the students to remain focused, disciplined, and dedicated to their studies while also assuring them of his administration’s continued support towards creating enabling platforms that will empower youths to achieve their dreams.
Apatira expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the initiative, including educators, community leaders, and parents. He reaffirmed that collective efforts are essential in building a brighter future for the younger generation.
