Adams was elected after a bye-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Saturday, September 30, 2017, to fill the vacant position.
Speaking after the swearing-in, which was held during plenary on Monday, the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, prayed that the tenure of the lawmaker would bring development to the state and the country in general. He also added that the incident that led the bye-election in the first place would not be experienced again.
“The event that brought you here will not occur again. We pray you abide by the oath of office you have taken today,” Obasa said.
