An Ilorin Magistrate Court has convicted a commercial driver, Samson Ayadi, for assaulting a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) patrol team in Kwara State.
Ayadi was arraigned before Magistrate I.Y. Jimade over an incident that occurred on July 20, 2024, while he was driving a Toyota Sienna along Ilorin–Jebba Road at Molete Junction.
The court was told that Ayadi mobilised a crowd against operatives of the Oloru Unit Command, physically assaulted the officers, and even climbed into their patrol vehicle to remove an impounded motorcycle. The rider of the motorcycle reportedly stripped himself naked in defiance of arrest.
