The Elder Caucus of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Kwara Central senatorial district on Sunday passed a vote of confidence on the state governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
This is just as the APC elders warned the opposition elements, within and without, against distracting the governor from delivering dividends of democracy to people of the state.
They also announced their resolve to give the governor 100 per cent support and loyalty.
The leaders of the APC Caucus reached the resolutions during a meeting with Governor Abdulrazaq’s commissioners who hail from the Kwara Central senatorial district, comprising Asa, Ilorin West, Ilorin East and Ilorin South local government areas.
In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the APC elders said they also discussed and strategized on the ongoing voter registration exercise.
The communique, signed by the chairman of the Caucus, Alhaji Mustapha Kobe, and the coordinator, Alhaji Razaq Lawal, added: “We emphasised the need to encourage the people of the state, especially APC members, to participate in the ongoing voter registration as well as the need to sustain and strengthen our party structures in Kwara Central.
“We called for adequate synergy between the commissioners and the Elders Caucus in ensuring welfare of our party members and the general populace. We resolved to give the governor 100% support and loyalty.
“We appeal to everyone not to distract the governor in his efforts to deliver the dividends of democracy to our people.”
