IGALAMELA community stakeholders, on Friday lauded President Muhammad Buhari over the nomination of Professor Steven Ocheni, as ministerial designate.
The community noted that the choice of Ocheni was a right one as he would join in the fight against corruption.
The community in a press conference addressed by Mallam Shaibu Amodu, said the nominee, who hails from Igalamela/Odolu local government area, is highly resourceful, innovative, versatile and hardworking officer.
Buhari had last week sent the name of Ocheni alongside others to the senate for confirmation following the death of late minister for State Labour and Employment, James Ocholi, in a car crash in March 2016.
Amodu said, “We sincerely believe that our son Professor Ocheini fits into your style of governance because he is a man of impeccable character that has excelled in several spheres of life, rising to the peak of his career in the academic world. He has distinguished himself as an astute administrator, academic and a diplomat per excellence.
“He garnishes these rare qualities and attributes with the absolute fear of God and has been consistent in service, promotion and enhancement of the wellbeing of the people of his community and indeed those that cross his path.”
“Igala community will remain ever grateful to President Buhari for the honor done to the people as he pledged that the people will give 100 per cent support to the laudable policies and programs of the Buhari Government.
The people also commended the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for the nomination of the minister-designate saying that it was a clear demonstration of his campaign for unity.
The chairman acknowledged Governor Bello’s commitment to the development of the State, urging the people to continue to support the governor in his quest to liberate the State.
“We use this opportunity to appeal to all stakeholders to join hands and support the nominee by pushing for his confirmation to fill the vacuum created by Ocholi’s death and hence the quota of the State in the Federal Executive council”, he added.
