Recall that the senator was suspended for six months over alleged misconduct following a dispute in the Senate. However, her constituents insist that the decision is unfair and denies them proper representation.

Community leaders and civil society organizations have also condemned the suspension, with some filing a legal petition against Senate leaders, accusing them of abuse of office. Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has vowed to challenge the decision in court.
