Kayode Alabi Leadership and Career Initiative (KLCI), a non-profit organisation committed to closing the leadership and employability gap among young people in underserved communities, has announced the appointment of Omolola AK-Fasasi (Née Lipede) as its new Co-Chief Executive Officer (Co-CEO).
In her new role, AK-Fasasi will share leadership responsibilities with current CEO and founder Hammed Kayode Alabi, representing a strategic move to deepen our work in underserved and underdeveloped communities.
Under this new structure, she will focus on “Strategy and Impact, while Hammed will oversee “Fundraising and Storytelling”.
“Every team needs an Omolola, someone who pushes boundaries, inspires others, and beats the odds,” noted a statement by the KLCI Management Team. “Her vision, energy, and ability to execute ideas have transformed the organisation. We are excited about the new possibilities that her leadership as Co-CEO will unlock.”
AK-Fasasi’s journey with KLCI started in 2019 as a volunteer. With passion, resilience, and commitment to impact, she rose through the ranks to become Chief Program Officer, where she redefined leadership in the organisation.
Under her leadership, KLCI expanded its reach to 10 states, engaged over 50 educators, and empowered more than 10,000 students in underserved communities across Nigeria.
She also led efforts to strengthen the volunteer base of KLCI, growing a network of over 100 dynamic young leaders who share the organisation’s mission to equip students with leadership and career development skills.
Apart from this, she brings a wealth of experience from over seven years in the development sector to drive our organisation to the next level of growth.
AK-Fasasi stated that she sees this new role as a call to scale impact, saying: “I am honoured to take on this role at such a pivotal time. KLCI is more than an organisation; it’s a movement. My commitment is to amplify our reach, create sustainable programs, and ensure that no child is left behind when it comes to leadership and career opportunities.”
This appointment is part of our mission to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace demands for students in underserved communities.
She will co-lead expansion efforts, strategic partnerships, and innovate solutions that prepare the next generation for leadership and success.
