…set for legal action
The Kebbi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to institute legal action against Hon. Salisu Garba Koko, Member representing Koko-Besse/Maiyama Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) earlier this week.
In a five-paragraph press statement made available to newsmen and signed by the Party’s PRO, Sani Dododo, the defection of Hon. Koko was described as a shocking betrayal and a slap on the faces of the people of Koko-Besse/Maiyama Federal Constituency, who entrusted him with their mandate.
Pointing out that the reason given for his defection is laughable, to say the least, the statement also exposed his insincerity, as there is no reported rift within the PDP fold in Kebbi State.

The party’s state chapter viewed his action as irresponsible and selfish, demonstrating a clear disregard for the welfare of his constituents. Therefore, members, supporters, and sympathizers of the party are urged to remain calm and committed to the party ideals, as it shall seek legal redress to restore its mandate.
“Our team of lawyers is currently compiling relevant documents to institute legal action against Hon. Salisu Garba Koko as stipulated in the Constitution.
“We, therefore, appeal to all our members, particularly the good people of Koko-Besse and Maiyama Federal Constituency, to remain steadfast in demanding a pure democratic solution to the nation’s problems, which have been exacerbated by the APC-led government’s poor policies and performance,” the statement read.
