The State’s Commissioner for Animal and Husbandry, Alhaji Adamu Ngaski, who stated this in Birnin Kebbi noted that the government was developing modalities for the disbursement of the loan to the registered livestock farmers through cooperative societies in the state.
“A comprehensive list of the applicants has been taken, presented to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for verification pending the release of the funds to the beneficiaries by the bank,” he said.
He urged the livestock farmers who had earlier applied for the loans to exercise patience as disbursement would commence upon the conclusion of verification of the applicants.
Ngaski denied alleged reports of disbursement of loans to the first batch of the farmers and cautioned against rumour mongering over the issue.
