As thousands gather at ‘Yar’adua Quarters in Katsina to mourn the family of Hajiya Dada Musa ‘Yar’adua, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Interior, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmad, has expressed his condolences to the Yar’Adua family, the Government, and the people of Katsina State over the passing of the renowned matriarch, Hajiya Dada.
Hajiya Dada, mother of the late former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, late General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, passed away at the age of 102 at her residence in Katsina on Monday evening.
In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media, Sardauna Francis, the House Committee Chairman on Interior described the late matriarch as a gem of inestimable value who mentored many reputable Nigerian leaders during her lifetime.
Ahmad, who represents the Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency of Katsina State, noted that Hajiya Dada was a mother to many, as her home was always a place of refuge where she welcomed everyone, regardless of tribal, religious, or political affiliation, with love and enthusiasm.

He stated: “I am deeply saddened by the passing of Hajiya Dada, the beloved mother of our esteemed political leader, mentor, and father, the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. Dada was an accomplished and true matriarch who lived a life of faithfulness in accordance with Islamic principles.
“I extend my profound grief and condolences to the Yar’Adua family, the Government, and the people of Katsina State over the loss of this true matriarch. May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Al-Jannah Firdausi. Ameen.”
The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker added that the late matriarch will be sorely missed.
