THE chairman, Kano State governorship election tribunal, Justice Nayai Aganaba, has assured political parties, that filed petitions before the tribunal would not be compromised.
This is just as he called on respective lawyers, who were going to represent various political parties at the tribunal, not to allow interest of their clients to caused acrimony or disaffection during the proceeding of the tribunal.
Making the assertion on Thursday at the inauguration of the three member panel of the tribunal, comprising Justice Aganaba, as chairman, while Justice Ashu Augustine Ewah and Justice Mustapha Tijjani, as members, the chairman stated that election tribunal is not a tea party affairs but were set up to resolve political conflict as a results of elections.
He however noted that though there may be mistake ,but such a mistake may be of head and not of heart.

According to him, most of politicians were friends ,you can see them moving or changing from one party to another ,the moment their political interest were not been protect ,they moved to where they feel they were politically secured and protected.
His words: “we were in Kano to see that the job is done , we have our good names to be protected as you can see we have limited time hence the need for all of us to be conscious of time during the sittings.”
He then charged lawyers to be tolerant of each others ,saying they should not see their colleague as enemies, as I said, those politicians were friends, is only they have different political parties to achieve political ambition.
Speaking with pressmen after the inauguration of the tribunal Barrister Ibrahim Mukthar, the state Attorney General and commissioner for Justice, said the idea behind setting up of any tribunal, is for whoever is aggrieved to seek justice, so that justice would be done.
According to him, this would avoid unnecessary political bickering ,which could have resulted to crisis, the charge of party “A” will have heard while that of party “B” will be given free opportunity to counter whatever party “A” has alleged and members of the tribunal will then pronounced their ruling in accordance to various evidence before the tribunal.
Kano State government, is happy to have this tribunal disclosing the state is expected to have additional tribunal, because of large number of petitions, so that there will be peace instead of fighting each others and everybody will enjoy the democracy.
