Kano State governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has sacked nine employees of the Ministry of Local Government over alleged fraud.
Governor Ganduje, equally ordered the immediate suspension of a director at the state Ministry of Finance over alleged connivance to divert millions of naira in the minstry.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed from the office of the Head of Civil Service (HoS), Alhaji Muhammed Naiya and made available to newsmen in Kano.
Dr Ganduje, however, said that any violation of due process, contravening government’s quest to eradicate corruption would be resisted.
According to the statement ,preliminary investigation by a special committee indicted the affected officers.
The state government had already handed over four employees of the Kano State Pension Funds Trustee to the police authorities.
The statement noted that the nine local government employees were schedule officers on the platform of REMITA.
Dr Ganduje said the case had already been handed over to the state Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission for investigation.
