The Kano State Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr. Hussaini Gumel, has confirmed that the death toll from the mosque attack in Gadan village, Gezawa Local Government Area of the state, has risen to 15.
Recall that on Wednesday, a man allegedly sprayed the mosque with petrol, locked its doors, and set it on fire, trapping about 40 worshippers.
However, some of the trapped victims, who sustained injuries, are still receiving treatment at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano.

Gumel said that the incident occurred during the dawn prayer at a mosque in Gadan village, leaving 24 worshippers injured.
The motive behind the attack is believed to be a family conflict over sharing of family inheritance.
Mr. Gumel added that the police are still on their investigation into the attack.
