Kano govt commences deployment of identified civil servants with teaching skills to schools

The Kano State Government has commenced the deployment of 6,995 identified civil servants with teaching skills to various secondary, primary and Tertiary Institutions in the state.

However ,the state governor , Abdullahi Ganduje, has approved the recall of the 6,995 teachers and directed their immediate re-assignment to Public Primary and Secondary Schools and institution of Higher learning that critically need teachers.

It will be recalled that sequel to the government’s approval for the “Recall” exercise, the Commissioner of Education, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Sa’id Kiru, directed the parastatals concerned under the ministry to suspend the future posting of teachers at both state and local  levels to private, community and voluntary schools.

He then warned all the agencies and the affected teachers to desist from future postings and report to such schools with effect, from Monday, 5th July, 2021 or face serious disciplinary sanctions.

The Commissioner also directed the immediate posting of the identified teachers to the relevant public schools within one week from Monday, 5 July, 2021 and report to the ministry for onward submission to the state Executive Council.

According to him, to ensure maximum compliance to the Governor’s directives, the ministry has constituted a task force to monitor the reposting exercise.

Also ,it will be recalled that the screening committee identified a total number of 6,995 teachers from SUBEB and KSSSMB posted to Private, Community and Voluntary schools while on the State and Local government’s payroll.

However ,in addition to the 6,995 teachers identified from the Private, Community and Voluntary schools, a Technical committee constituted by the state government under the chairmanship of a retired Permanent Secretary.

Malam Dallami Garba has equally sourced 5000 workers with various Education related qualifications from MDAs, for onward posting to Primary/ secondary schools and institutes of higher learning.
