Kano: Court sentences man to death for killing friend

Published by

A High Court in Kano presided over by Justice Muhammad Musa Karaye, has sentenced one Adamu Isma’ila Arzai to death by hanging for killing his friend during a fight over a cap.

It be recalled that the incident happened in 2016 while Arzai and the victim, Auwal Shehu Kabara, were on their way to Bauchi for a business trip.

A disagreement over a cold cap turned violent, leading Arzai to stab Kabara.

However, during the trial, the prosecution, led by Wahida Isma’il, called five witnesses to support the case. The defendant also testified in his own defence.

In his judgment, Justice Karaye ruled that the prosecution had proven the case beyond reasonable doubt and found Arzai guilty of murder.
