THE Kaduna Division of Appeal Court on Friday upheld Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s electoral victory.
The five-member panel of the Appellate Court dismissed the 24 grounds of appeal filed by PDP and its governorship candidate, Abba Kabiru Yusuf noting that appellants failed to prove that there was over-voting, violence, and non-compliance with the Electoral Act 2010 as amended.
The lead judgment on Friday, which was read by Justice Tijjani Abubakar in a unanimous ruling said Ganduje was duly elected.

It would be recalled that the election petition tribunal led by Justice Halima Shamaki on October 2 upheld the election of Ganduje and dismissed the petition of the opposition PDP and its candidate.
When not satisfied with the ruling of the tribunal, PDP and its governorship Candidate Abba Kabiru Yusuf proceeded to the Appeal Court to challenge the judgment.
Members of the Appeal Court panel that presided over the appeal include Justice Tijjani Abubakar, Paul O. Elechi, Muhammad Mustapha, G.O. Kolawole and Abubakar Umar.
