The announcement from Tambuwal came barely 24 hours after Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki, Kwara State governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, and former party spokesman, Bolaji Abdulahi, announced their defections to the PDP.

Tambuwal, like others, through a tweet, stated that after wide consultation especially with the Sokoto people, has gotten their support to forge ahead to his next political move.
