Nigeria’s national grid has suffered another setback, leaving parts of the country in total blackout.
The incident, TRIBUNE ONLINE gathered, occurred around 11:30 am on Wednesday, making it the second time the national grid will be suffering setback this year.
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) confirmed the grid disturbance, stating that a system outage caused a power outage across their franchise areas.
According to the company, restoration of power supply has commenced, and they are working to fully restore electricity as soon as the grid is stabilised.
Similarly, Ikeja Electric and Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc also confirmed the development in a tweet on Wednesday.
The cause of the grid disturbance is yet to be disclosed by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). This incident follows a pattern of instability, with the grid suffering frequent collapses in recent times.
