Seyi Makinde
Omituntun in the Diaspora (OID), a socio-political group has passed a vote of confidence on the Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde following his visionary leadership governance and leading a change through an inclusive and people-oriented government.
The group expressed its delight over the diverse laudable projects and policy implementations that have transformed the state as well as made people experience comprehensive government, adding that, youth empowerment and visible projects in the state are part of his sustainable development agenda.
As part of the second anniversary of June 12 as Democracy Day, the group acknowledged Governor Makinde as a visionary leader, just as it advised him to shun his critics and also not to lose focus or give room for distraction in keeping to his promise to the people of the state which could afford him to set a new standard in the political space.

According to a release signed by OID national spokesperson in the United States of America, Mr Ayotomiwa Adebayo and made available to Tribune Online, the group acknowledged that Governor Makinde’s transparency, accountability and commitment to true democracy is exceptional and that his administration has taken positive steps through the four pillars of his sustainable development plan, which include education, health, security and economic expansion through agribusiness to make Oyo State great again.
Adebayo, however, urged the good people of the state not to relent in their support for the Makinde administration for more developments to enjoy the dividend of democracy.
OID coordinator for the Republic of Ireland, To further reinforce the plea for the unity of purpose, Mr Kehinde Oluwatosin, rated Gov. Makinde as a purpose-driven Governor who is focused on the prosperity and quality of life of the people of Oyo State.
An executive member of the group Dr Olufemi Olowookere Consultant Family Physician and Geriatrician, and Mr Siji Ganiyu Provost, Oyo State College of Health Sciences and Technology also applauded the fast, aggressive response of Governor Seyi Makinde-led COVID-19 task force to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The coordinator of the group in Hungary, Mr Adebowale Abiodun Fafore, added that it was imperative to acknowledge that the people of Oyo State in general were in support, recognised and appreciated the efforts of Makinde-led government and his good work in the state.
He also called upon indigenous citizens living in the Diaspora to support Governor Makinde’s pursuit to transform the pacesetter state into an attractive and compelling destination for foreign investors.
