The IyawoJesu Female Football Tournament (IFFT 2025) has come to an exciting end, with Joke Babes Soccer Academy emerging as champions after a 2-0 victory over Adewale Babes FA in the final. The tournament, which kicked off on February 18, concluded on February 28, the birthday of its founder and sponsor, Deaconess Joke Martins-Ojo.
The third-place match between Oluyole Flaming Queens and Apex Angels ended in a 1-1 draw, leading to a tense penalty shootout that saw Oluyole Flaming Queens claim victory 6-5.
Dignitaries at the final included Alhaja Abimbola Serifat, Mrs. Adeyemi Sarah, Mrs. Faniyi Omolara, and Hon. Gbenga Adewusi, who presented the trophies and cash prizes on behalf of Deaconess Joke Martins-Ojo. Joke Babes Soccer Academy received a gold trophy, gold medals, and ₦150,000, while Adewale Babes FA took home a silver trophy, silver medals, and ₦100,000. Oluyole Flaming Queens, as third-place winners, received a bronze trophy, bronze medals, and ₦50,000.
Represented by Phillipian Olusegun Adebosipo Oshijirin, Deaconess Joke Martins-Ojo congratulated the winners and announced her plan to repair the school bus for the team’s convenience.
Oyo State FA Chairman, His Royal Highness, Oba (Dr.) James Oluyemi Odeniran, The Alakinyele of Akinyele, was unavoidably absent but sent a message reaffirming his support for IFFT and female football development in Oyo State and Nigeria.
Other notable attendees included Mr. Dapo Oshodi-Tapa, Phillipian Lasisi Mutairu (KayLas), and several other Phillipians, who cheered the players on in an event that showcased exceptional talent and growing support for women’s football in Oyo State.
