THERE was a drama at Kofar Fada polling unit in Sara town of Gwaram local government area in Jigawa State when the officials of the Independent National Election Communication (INEC) denied the local government chairman, Alhaji Dan’Asabe Muhammadu Sara access to vote in the ongoing bye-election for the seat of a member representing Gwaram at federal level.
Reports from the state indicated that the corps members resisted all forms of intimidations by the local council chairman who insisted that he was in a hurry and couldn’t locate his PVC but he has the card number.
An eye witness who gave his name as Malam Ahmadu Sara said “The chairman came in an official car accompanied by some of his political associates whom were volunteer allies and introduced him as council boss.

After a brief argument between the local council boss and INEC officials, the chairman affirmed that his card (PVC) was left in Dutse, the state capital which is about 200 kilometres.
The presiding officer of the Sara Kofar Fada 001 polling unit stood firm the electoral law and that all eligible voters must present their PVCs and will be accredited before being allowed to cast their votes.
When interrogated, the chairman said “Yes, I forgot where I kept my card.
