Jaye Kuti parades stars at premiere of ‘Blacksmith’ (Alagbede)

Filmhouse at Circle Mall, Lekki, came alive last Friday, as the stars aligned and Nollywood veterans as well as rising stars converged for the premiere of Jaiye Kuti’s ‘Blacksmith’ (Alagbede) in a spectacular display of glamour and celebration.

Set against the backdrop of the circa 70s, ‘Blacksmith’ (Alagbede) unfolds the timeless tale of Adio, a humble blacksmith, whose life takes a tumultuous turn when he falls in love with Omotoke, a woman from a privileged background. As Adio endeavours to provide for Omotoke, he delves into risky ventures, leading to strained relationships and the unraveling of truths.

‘Blacksmith’ (Alagbede) is the brainchild of Dr. Jaiye Kuti, in collaboration with co-producers, Leye Fabusoro and Motunrayo Adeoye. Their combined vision and dedication birthed the captivating story which is now live on the silver screen, resonating with audiences across Nigeria and beyond.

Directed by Ogunlade ‘Blackky’ Usman and featuring a stellar ensemble cast, including Femi Adebayo, Eniola Ajao, Odunlade Adekola, and Iyabo Ojo, ‘Blacksmith’ (Alagbede) explores themes of love, friendship, and redemption in the face of adversity.
