Itigidi talent hunt fiesta to promote youths, tourism potentials — FG

THE Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Mrs Grace Gekpe said the maiden edition of the 2019 Itigidi Raw Talent Hunt Easter Entertainment Festival would promote youths and tourism potentials.

Gekpe, in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja, said the fiesta, themed, “Engaging the youth through entertainment for a greater tomorrow’’ would engage youths in Nigeria’s creative sector.

“The event is aimed at harnessing the creative potentials of the youths for socio-economic empowerment and to showcase the rich tourism heritage of the community’’.

It added that the event which would feature a tour of historical/landmark sites, raw talent hunt show, picnic, as well as award and gala night.

“The Fiesta would harness the artistic potentials of the youths, foster peaceful co-existence amongst the youths of the area and beyond, thus reduce youth restiveness.

“Develop and promote tourism potentials of the area, thus improve the socio-economic well-being of the people and gainful employment through the creative industry,’’

NAN reports that Gekpe is to serve as the Special Guest of honour at the maiden edition of the Fiesta is scheduled to hold April 20th to 21st in Itigi, Abi local government, Cross River State.
