The festive season has kicked off in style with array of concerts from some of Nigeria’s top music acts taking the front burner in Lagos.

Concert season is usually intense in December, a particularly hot period as music and comedy concerts kick in torrents.

As soon as the year hits December 1, venues are usually booked out for shows for performers.

The common word flying around in Lagos now is what many people described as Detty December, which literally means that it is that time of the year to party hard.

As many people from all walks of life look to unwind after a long year of hard work, it is not surprising that some of the country’s popular acts set machinery in motion to shut the city with concerts, shows and performances that would signal the end of the year for them.

While some of them may have had a good year as evident in the number of hits they released in the outgoing year, the shows and concerts they rocked and the tours they embarked on, same could not be said of others who have had a relatively quiet year.

With Small Doctor leading the list of artistes with most sold-out venue, his Omo Better Concert is one that many people look forward to. The reason is not far to seek: the show, which comes up at the Agege stadium, will have people to part with N500 to experience what he described as the “unusual concert’.

The concert, entering its second season started last year and recorded success that ushered Small Doctor into 2019.

From Small Doctor to Olamide, the feeling is not going to be different as Olamide, on Friday announced December 23 for Olamide Live in Concert show, one that always gives the people more than they bargained for.

Tagged: Olamide is Made in Lagos Concert, the rapper who has had a big year will be ending 2019 on a bigger note as he informed R that the concert will “scatter Lagos” with two days to Christmas.

Set to hold at the Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island, Lagos, the show, according to Olamide “ will attract top music acts and will surely rev the people to a night of unrivaled excitement”.

Davido’s concert follows just two days after Olamide’s at the same venue with the singer describing the concert as “A Good Time with Davido”. The singer is one of the most successful Nigerian artistes and he would be looking to give back to the people in a special way as he confirmed that he has many surprises for his fans on that day.

Despite his court case with former record label, Kizz Daniel is not leaving any stone unturned this December as he promised to take his fans on a journey of unending fun at Kizz Daniel Live in Concert coming up at Eko Convention Centre on December 26.
