Isinkan in Akure South LG to raise N5bn for developmental projects

The Isinkan community in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State has unveiled its two week-long plan to celebrate the maiden Isinkan Day to showcase the rich cultural heritage and tradition of the its people.

The chairman, Planning Committee 2024 Isinkan Day, the Olu of Isinkan, Oba Olumuyiwa Akintola Aguda, said an appeal fund of N5bn for the development of the community will be raised during the celebration.

The monarch further said that about 120 traditional rulers across Nigeria are expected at the occasion.

Oba Aguda stated that the maiden celebration of the community will attract both foreign and local tourists to the state, which would be of immense economic benefits to the city and the state in general.

He said that the event is put in place to primarily showcase the rich culture and tradition of the Isinkan people and to raise funds for the developmental projects for the community.

Nigerian Tribune learnt that part of the activities of the event is the visit to Olokuta Correctional Centre and juvenile home, a thanksgiving day (Liberation Day) at St. Thomas’s Anglican Church, Isinkan, among others.
