The Ogun State Police Command has commenced full investigation into the alleged killings of two civilians by some soldiers, during the Isheri Day celebration, on Tuesday.
The soldiers, according to a statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, were said to be from Ikeja Cantonment in Lagos, posted to Kara market in Isheri area of the state.
Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the four soldiers left their place of primary assignment for Isheri and allegedly had a minor disagreement with some youths during the festival.
The development led to sporadic gunshots by the soldiers which resulted in the death of one Damilare Adelani, who was hit by a bullet.

One of the soldiers was reported to have been injured by the people and three civilians injured.
One of the injured was receiving treatment at a particular hospital when the soldiers brought in their wounded colleague and ordered that the doctor on duty should attend to their colleague first.
Oyeyemi said information had it that the soldiers dragged the patient from the hospital bed and stabbed him to death with the bayonet attached to the muzzle of his rifle.
The PPRO said the State Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, has contacted military authorities in Ogun State, to fish out the perpetrators for justice.
