My roommate has been coughing excessively for the past two weeks. The cough is also accompanied by chest pain and occasional release of blood stained sputum. I want to know if this is Tuberculosis and if so, what I can do not to be infected.

Most people infected with the bacteria that causes tuberculosis don’t have symptoms. When symptoms do occur, they usually include a cough (sometimes blood-tinged), weight loss, night sweats and fever. Pain areas: in the chest.
Pain circumstances:Â can occur while breathing Cough:Â can be chronic or with blood. Whole body:Â chills, fatigue, fever, loss of appetite, malaise, or night sweats.
Also common: wasting, muscle atrophy, phlegm, shortness of breath, or swollen lymph nodes you’ve had a cough for more than 3 weeks.
Since your roommate has some of the above stated symptoms, it will be important for both of you to visit a doctor for some important tests that will let you know if your friend has Tuberculosis and whether you have also been infected.
