Iralepo still on suspension —Deji of Akure

IsinkanThe Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, has confirmed that Chief Olu Ojo, remained a suspended chief and not a  tradtional ruler as he claimed.

Apparently replying to an interview granted by Ojo in Nigerian Tribune, where he referred to himself as the Iralepo of Isikan, the Chief Press Secretary  (CPS), to the Deji,  Mr Michael Adeyeye, reaffirmed  that Chief  Ojo remained suspended as a chief under the Deji since March 7, 2012 and could therefore, not lay claim to be the Iralepo of Isinkan.

He said the decision to suspend the Iralepo and Osolo, was as a result of the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Akure Division,  on July 6, which nullified their appointments as  tradtional rulers . According to the  CPS, the court revert them to their positions as  quareter chiefs which culminated in immediate suspension of the duo as chiefs at an emergency meeting of the Deji in Council.

Adeyeye described as a mere fabrication and  falsehood, the claim by the suspended chief that Isikan was already at its  current  location before the arrival of Akure. He said that Akure had been in existence even before the arrival of Asodeboyede. He wondered why a chief under the authority of the Deji could claim to have existed before the advent of the respected stool of the Deji.

He equally confirmed that Chief Ojo had been banned from attending the Council of Chiefs meeting  while he had also been delisted from the payroll.

The  CPS  described as diversionary, the issue of the presentation and representation made to Justice C.E.T Ajama Judicial Commission of Inquiry by Chief Ojo as reported in the said interview. He explained that Chief Ojo is  aware of a counter memorandum presented by Akure against his submission. He described the presentation to the commission as a mere academic exercise and a mirage to give a false and non-existing hope that he is awaiting the report of the commission as long as the judgment of the Appeal Court subsists. He described the statement credited to Chief Ojo, as a mere afterthought.

He, however, confirmed the readiness of Oba Aladetoyinbo to extend fatherly love to the suspended chief if he chose to follow  due process.
