Women from different professional backgrounds gathered in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday for the 2026 Bloom Series organised by Brunch and Bloom Africa as part of activities to commemorate International Women’s Day.

The event, which held at The Brunch and Bloom Space, provided a platform for women to connect, learn and share experiences on personal development, career growth and leadership.

Speaking at the event, the guest speaker, Dr. Tinu Smith, encouraged women to be intentional about building their careers while also contributing meaningfully to society. She emphasised the importance of financial independence, self-development and resilience in the face of challenges.

Smith, a multiple award-winning entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer of Datina Designs Fashion House, urged women to remain focused on their goals and not allow societal pressures to limit their ambitions.

She also highlighted the need for women to support one another, noting that collaboration among women can open doors to greater opportunities and long-term impact.

The convener of the programme, OgundareOmosewa, said the initiative was designed to create a safe and inspiring space where women can share ideas, learn from experienced professionals and build meaningful networks.

According to her, the Bloom Series aims to equip women with the knowledge and confidence needed to grow in their careers, businesses and personal lives.

Participants at the event described the programme as impactful, noting that discussions around leadership, financial empowerment and career development were timely and relevant.

The Bloom Series is one of the initiatives organised to celebrate International Women’s Day while encouraging women to embrace growth, collaboration and leadership in their various fields.
