Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga has thrown a swipe at former Governor of Kaduna, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who was recently expelled by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for 30 years.
Onanuga, in a post on Monday, mocked El-Rufai, saying he has been “internally displaced again.”
The SDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) expelled El-Rufai for falsely claiming to be a member of the party and promoting its activities without actually joining.

The party discovered that El-Rufai had not registered at his ward as required by law, despite publishing on social media that he had joined the SDP.
The NWC stated that El-Rufai’s actions were “contrary to all existing and updated records of the SDP in Kaduna State” and that his “dodgy membership status” had been used to trade on the party’s name in various forums.
The party also accused El-Rufai of destabilising schemes against the SDP at national, state, and local levels.
The expulsion comes with a 30-year ban from the party, and the SDP has warned its members and the public not to have any dealings with El-Rufai.
The party also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and relevant agencies to take note of El-Rufai’s non-member status.
Onanuga’s comment was in response to the development, with him saying El-Rufai has been “internally displaced again,” implying that the former governor has been rejected by another political party.
